Planning a vacation, but don't know where to go!! Smoky mountains, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, or Upper Michigan!!! Too much to comprehend on such a little mind!!! Where to go?????

Got a really neat idea by leaving a comment for my friend Cathy!!! Everyone knows the dilemma of those unmatched socks. They sit in a basket for a looooooooong time, awaiting their never-to-be-seen-again-mate. So, they sit, and you think, 'one day I'll get rid of those, but, just maybe....', how about getting a large bin, fix some sandwiches and drinks, chips and dip or some such simple thing, invite a few friends over with their 'treasure', put them all together, and see if any can be matched??? If nothing else, it would be fun to get together and share some laughs along the way, and it will be the first 'party' of it's kind!!!! Some might say I just have too much time on my hands!!!! Oh well....it still would be fun!!!!!!!! And, I'm gonna do it!!!!! Wanna come play?????

Went On A Date!!!!!

Can you believe it?? After ten thousand years, it seems, we had a date!!! We had so much fun!!! We got a "babysitter", thanks so much Tudie, I appreciate you so much!!!!! We went Saturday night to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the River Side Centroplex in Baton Rouge! Then, we went to Monjouni's to eat dinner. We went with some friends, Jim and Cathy. Had a delightful evening!! The show was spectacular! It was awesome! First time I ever had seen them, besides on tv. I am so happy and still excited we went!!!! So much fun!!! Looking forward to the next event!!! George and Jim both like ZZ Top. Cathy said she will be on the lookout for tickets!!! The only concert I have ever been to was a long time ago, Sandy and I went to see George Strait at Gilley's in Pasadena. That was fun too!!!! Feel like a kid again!! Doing something different and fun, am in awe!!!

Dreamy Exhaustion

Have you ever had a dream that seemed to go on and on, and when you finally do wake up, you find yourself exhausted? That's what happened to me last night. When the clock went off, I didn't know what to do. My mind was racing from the dream, and I didn't realize for a second what that noise was, or even where I was! I hate those times! Hope I'm not the only one!

The company I use to work for calls me at least every other day to come back to work. I have since then, gotten the perfect job. I take care of Maw Maw, I call her, in my home for 3 days a week. She is a jewel! I adore her, and so does Hubby and Toot! She has become a part of our family. I can't wait for Monday's when she's coming!! She stays till Thrsday afternoon. She loves fires in the fireplace. George keeps them going for her! She talks about it all the time when she goes back home, and that is saying something, cause she has Alzheimer's. She never forgets George's name, however, she calls me Vickie. Why? I dunno!!! But, she remembers George!!!!!

Anyway, I dreamed last night that the company called and stressed me out. To shut them up, I went to the client's home. After arriving there, and getting things set up, I remembered I left Maw Maw home alone. I told them I had to leave, but, they said I had to work first. I called George to come get me. He wanted to stop at the store, and while in the store, my neighbor came in with Jossie! I was excited to see her, but, I needed to get home to Maw Maw. Nobody would help me get to her!!! That's all I could think about! I woke up trying to get back to her! I was tired! If Maw Maw is still asleep when Toot leaves for school, guess where I am going!!!!!!!!

Silly dream, I know, but it was so real! gosh!!! So, see Maw Maw, I love you even in my dreams. (even if I did forget about you for a moment)!!!

Good Morning!!!

Thought I would drop in to say hi to you this morning! I am in such a good mood. Don't know why! When I looked out this morning at 4:30, I saw the most awesome full moon! Shining so bright and so beautiful!! I went outside and stared at it for just a moment, to relish in its beauty, and feel God's wonderful Hand! I took a picture with my cell phone, but no way was it able to captue the real beauty. It was one of the most beautiful moon's I have ever seen! Wish I could post it for you!!!

I hope all have a wonderful day! I am going off to Mississippi when Toot leaves for school, to check on Charlie. He will be 91 on the 15th. He is falling alot, but, I think for the most part, given his age and physique, he is doing rather well!! He is still driving, (whoa!) which is sometimes a challenge!! He doesn't drive in the city anymore!! But, he can manuever around his little town rather well!!! He is great!!!

I am alive!!!!!! Sorry I have been away so long! I have neglected my friends here that are very dear to me. I have a Myspace and Shoutlife that I try to keep up with too, and I apologize so much for not being here as well. I have many friends here that I chreish, and I am so sorry I don't get here more often. You are always thought of, though!!!

I hope everyone's Christmas and New Year was a blessed and happy one! Safe, too!!! Ours was nice. We went to Brandy's for Christmas dinner, and they came over here for New Year's Day, as did Jaime and Mike. We had an enjoyable time with family and friends. George got a new truck for Christmas, (which I stole from him, though I do let him drive it sometimes), a Dodge Ram, extended cab. Very nice. Drives like a dream!! A six speed, CD, the usual stuff!!! We love it!!!

Jordyn and Deirdre and I went to see Lacey and the boys a few days after Christmas to bring their gifts. They were so excited to see their big sister!! Jordyn was happy to see her mom and brothers, too!!! If I knew how to post pictures on here, I would show you, but talented like that, I am not!! I also stopped in Avondale on the way back and got some hot tamales to bring home!!! I miss the good ole days when Dad and I use to go get them to munch on!!! Can't get those good ones no where around here!!!!!!! Nothing like Manuel's, out of New Orleans!!!!! Yummie!!!!

I am pretty tired today. Went to Mississippi Wednesday to pick up 3 kids from a friend of mine, to keep for 3 days, so Jordyn would have someone to play with. The girls are 7, 8, and 2!! The two year old thinks I am her mommie, she sticks to me like glue. I went to Wal Mart last night without her. George called me about 15 minutes later asking if I was about through. She started crying as soon as she knew I was gone. The only way he could calm her down was to tell her to go outside with him and wait for me in the driveway. Luckily, we don't live but around the corner from Wal Mart, so, it didn't take me long!!! I was getting in the truck to come home when he called!!!! Today when I brought her home, she cried and cried when I was leaving. It saddened me to leave her. She is so sweet! My sweet little Emily!!!! Wish I could post a picture of her. She is chunky like Shirley Temple, and has the same curly hair, and little round face. She is beautiful!!!!

Guess i will go for now and visit some of you and see what is going on. George wants to go to the coast tonight, so I don't know what time I will have on here! I will take the laptop with us, as we have wirless internet. He loves it cause he can be on the net while I drive down the road!!!!!! Yep, I do the driving, most of the time! I let him drive sometimes :) !!!!! Love to all!!!!!!!!! Be back soon, I promise!!!!!

We Made It!!!

Praise God!!! The sickness is over, and the Thanksgiving Holiday was great!!! I Went to pick up Lillie, our 4 year old grand daughter from Winnsboro so she could spend some time with us during the holidays. Also, had a friend of mine's mom for the week. Ms. Helen is 89, has alzheimers, and was a joy to have!!! I had so much fun with her. Hope she had the same! She is so fun!!! We had her for Thanksgiving. We all went to Brandy's house, oldest daughter, and had a blast! The food was great, the company awesome and the day was a trememdous blessing! We totally enjoyed it! The only problem not cooking at home is no leftovers!!! Sunday, I baked a turkey and had it yesterday with mashed potatoes, gravy and sweetpeas. Got left-overs now!!!!!!! Yummie!!!!!! Gonna do a ham, too, cause that is what we miss!!!!

Hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Will visit so I can catch up! I haven't been on here all week. Miss you guys!!! Love to all!!!

Love and Sunshine to all!!! It's rather 'cloudy' here, due to the sickness going around over here. I think mine is trying to go into pneumonia. Probably go to the doc today!! If I can get the strength to!!! I feel terrible!! Toot missed two days of school from being sick. George had it last week and into the weekend. So nice of him to share!!! Now, I know what Joe and Becky went through. Did you guys share, too????? heehee

I am going to make this short and sweet!! Got to go wake Toot up to see how she feels today. Hope all are well with you and yours. Love you!!!

I can't help but wonder.... I can't help but cry... Will my fears be put to rest, or is it truly the worst thing for our country? It's not a 'race thing', or even a "Democrat or Republican' thing. It is a moral thing and a Biblical thing. We live in America, right? Land of the free, home of the brave. How can we elect someone so un-American? He won't salute the flag, he won't support our military. In fact, he wants to dissolve it, and let the UN take over. What's wrong with this picture?

You know, the whole wrold is rejoicing because of our new president. Isn't that the same people who wanted to blow us off the face of the map not too many even days ago????

Another country cannot send planes or ships to bomb us. We have too much technology for that. They would be stopped in their tracks, and they know it. So, what do they do??? They come into this country, because we are a peaceful and loving and christian country. We welcome everybody. We educate them, we give them jobs. We even elect them into offices. Yes, we are so trusting. So willing to help them better themselves. We welcome their families, their friends. They have the same rights as us. Then what?

This great country can't be destroyed from the outside. Only from within. Remember September 11, 2001? My fear is, we ain't seen nothing yet.....

I woke up feeling more relaxed than I did Wednesday morning. When I watched the news about how the rest of the world was rejoicing about the new president, I cried. Literally. Wasn't it not long ago they wanted to blow us off the face of the Earth, and now, they're happy?? That sends 'mega-message' to me. But, I had to take a deep breath and step back and remember that this is bigger than you and me, and we all know, or should know, who is in control. I pray for this country and I pray for you! Love to all.....
